If your husband (or boyfriend) is anything like mine, when Holiday’s come around (yes, even Valentines day)… I usually draw a blank with what to get him. Unless of course, it is Christmas, where he still makes detailed, color coded Christmas lists 😉

For our 2 year wedding anniversary, it was the first year we were in our new home- (we were first time home-buyers last March – fist bump!!) So I decided to put together a “First Year Home Owner’s survival kit” for him. It was perfect because it was made with all stuff we will need around the house, but things we never think to just “buy” (guys love practical gifts..) I added my own personal-crafty touch to it with a little inspiration to kick-start new projects, or to encourage him when he feel’s overwhelmed… Because, as many of you know, owning a home is wonderful, but comes with a lot of… well… surprises 🙂

You could make any variation of this, but Matt absolutely loved the practicality of  it, and confirmed that no man can ever have enough tools, or extension cords! I have also made him “Date-night in” baskets, with soda, popcorn, candy.. and one of our favorite movies to watch…This way, you are not just giving a gift, but a guaranteed night together outside of the normal “dinner & a movie” There are so many variations – I would love to hear what you end up making!
