At The Heart | Mom & Me Minis

April 22, 2017

Mom and me minis hit super close to home after the possible chance of my mom, the strongest person I’ve known, being a memory.

two days after I found out that for the first time, I was going to be a mommy, my mom, and soon to be grandma to our first born – was diagnosed with a word that no one wants to hear.

cancer.

After loosing my dad after a long battle, and at an age no child should be without a parent, the news of celebrating the joy of finding out we were expecting was tainted by a diagnosis, I now know, I gave to much power to.

I doubted the healing power of Gods hand,

and the strength of the woman He gave me to call mom.

These photos were taken the day before she started chemo, a mini session, by a dear friend, Mishelle Lamarand.

These photos carried so much power in our journey.

As she lost her hair, and through the good days and bad days, I came to look back on these precious images as my proof that

God was working two miracles in one.

He was manifesting His healing power at work in my moms temporary diagnosis, and growing a little miracle in me, for soon my new name would become, mommy.

Not only do these photos take me back to a place of God’s healing and faithfulness, but to a place of joy knowing that through every season,

I have her.

My mom.

My rock.

My strong tower.

My gentle voice, and the person who drives me the most crazy in the world.

The person who my children will now call grandma,

and will get the chance to swing on this very swing set I swag on as a little girl.

Photos invite the ever present chance to pause, if just for a moment, and document the beauty and fragility of life.

Every stage is precious,

and every stage is worth documenting.

Whether you’re a expecting mom, a new mom, or your grandmother or mother may be too close to becoming a memory,

these sessions are for you.

The heart of these sessions is to document life.

To document one of life’s most treasured relationships.

A journey, a stage… here & now, don’t let them look back on a screen, or just blurry iPhone photos.

Have something for them to treasure, for you to treasure, and look back on,

from this stage.

Be in the frame, instead of just behind it.

I can’t wait to get you in front of my camera – and capture your treasured relationship.

Limited spots left, please share with someone you know, and email me dayna@daynamaephotography.com to reserve your session
