Childhood Sessions // Ann Arbor Portrait Photographer

April 20, 2016

As a new mommy myself, I knew I had to get some of the new families (and expecting families) and families I have admired afar on my newsfeed, in front of my camera to freeze time, if only just for a moment. If I’ve learned anything as a new mom, it’s how fast time goes.

Time, please slow your roll.

Please?

I can’t tell you how important it is to capture your children’s childhood. To capture you family where they are right now.

In this moment.

Because when it’s gone, you will have a beautiful memory, yes.

But don’t you want something to look back on, and make you feel for a second time, that very moment unfold?

That was my heart behind these mini sessions.

To capture L I F E.

The realness, the chaos, the grass stains, the loose teeth, scabbed knees, and tickle fights in all their glory.

To capture the tantrums, the tears, and the fear of bees, or getting your feet dirty.

I saw, in front of my camera….

lives loosen

smiles become genuine

laughter that was uncontrolled, unrestrained

I saw perfection loosen it’s grip, as kids were kids

and grass stains were the real deal,

and a moment unfolded that I couldn’t have planned or perfected in another way,

than to just let it happen & go with the flow.

Life, everyday, captured.

felt.

Lived.

Raw, real, relentless love & laughter.

That’s what I’m after…

blessings, dayna
