I’ve gotten away from blogging family sessions, because the past 2 years I have focused Dayna Mae Photography on marketing weddings + love shoots. But then there are families, like this one, who can’t be kept on our hard drives. They must be shared.. This session to me, went far beyond posing, lighting, and going through the motions. This session to me, was the mark of a legacy. From the property we shot on, the house Bobby grew up in, and their heart and passion that goes into farming, this was more than just a “pretty location”.  This represents his past, and their future together. As a family, as a couple deeply in love, and as dear friends of ours, they are in inspiration to everyone they touch. Though at times, I know Cristin feels like life is slipping by, the way they chase every opportunity to pursue their dreams together, and not only pursue them, but make them a reality, goes beyond words.

Maybe this session gets me, because I deeply know Cristin. I know and love her for her. Her strength, through everything that comes. How motherhood has not only changed her, but truly made her better. It has been beautiful watching their family grow. In the times where it doesn’t seem like people are watching, I have seen her. Seen the way she looks at the babies she holds, when she found out their last child would be a boy, when Bobby taught his girls to hunt, or look for deer tracks. I’ve seen her laugh, I’ve seen her struggle, and cry in fear of circumstances. But the thing about her, is that she always believes in Bobby. She always builds him up, and their children see the strength that can come from a bond like that. I feel the bond between them. I see how calm and patient they are as parents. As she’s reading this, I know in her mind she’s saying ‘yea right” because she is just one of those people that doesn’t see how incredible she is. But she is, they are….
