quadriplegic wedding

If you don’t have a box of tissues nearby, I suggest you grab them now. There, I warned you 😉

I honestly don’t even know where to begin with these two incredible souls. Meet Josh + Anita, and read about the start of their love story from their Northern Michigan Proposal last summer to really understand the magic + the miracle of this day.

Josh and I go way back, all the way to 4th grade orientation at YMCA storer camp. The years + growing up took our paths different ways, but oh, how God has a way of bringing people into our path when we need it most. There is absolutely no one in the world that could have been a better match for him. Anita, you seriously are an angel and one of the most beautiful and inspiring humans I’ve ever met. Oh, what a call the Lord has on your life!

In my 10+ years of shooting, this wedding, has been the most incredible, intimate, tear-jerking story of God’s Miracle working power + redemption.

After a boating accident 4 years ago, Josh encountered extensive spinal cord injuries, and became quadriplegic. Through years of extensive therapy, and still on his journey, his wedding day he was able to walk for the FIRST TIME with assistance down the aisle as family and friends had not seen him walk for nearly 4 years. He took step by step giving his hardship to The Lord, and walked down to the place he would say his I-Do’s to Anita, the angel by his side.

The celebration, the victory, the triumph through tragedy on this day was one only the Author of Heaven could have had His hand in.

Anita and Josh, thank you for letting me be a part of these first moments with you and giving me (and the world) a glimpse into the beautiful life you two share together. With family, friends, and the God who’s given you purpose and strength these last 4 years by your side, I know together you can take on the world, and continue to move mountains! I can’t wait for the many full circle moments you’ll continue to discover in this life together.

May you always be each other’s beauty for ashes, joy for mourning, and crown of glory as you walk through temporary seasons of despair + many more days of delight.

blessings, dayna mae
