Maria + Matt: A Northern Mitten Engagement
This session was stunning for so many reasons. First off, Matt, Maria, and I initially dreamed up shooting their engagement session in Northern Michigan at our first consult. Personally, I LOVED the idea. My happy smile dimples come out,  when couples bring something that’s them, or dream up an idea for their  engagement session. A piece of their past, of their present, or their future together.
We were just outside a small town in Northern Michigan called Mesick. The colors had just began to peak, and the drive up was nothing short of breath- taking. Matt had spent his summers growing up in a remote cottage in Mesick, which was also where he proposed, on a snowmobile trail last winter. When they warned me we would be traveling through a forrest during their session, they weren’t kidding! My Jeep, Mabis, (yes, I name my cars… and my cameras…;)) experienced her first OFF-ROADING adventure following them to the very place he proposed. We also hiked (at least 3 miles) to Northern Michigan’s only known flowing waterfall.
Their heart for nature, their 4 legged babies, and each other, won me over at our first consultation discussing their big day. I could not be happier to be photographing them again for their Cottonwood Barn wedding next September!
