What a mother’s day…indeed!
I got the call from Zac at 6:45am Sunday morning (MOThER’S DaY) saying “Em’s water broke, Kayleigh’s on her way!” what awesome timing I thought to myself. Em had been anxious all week, and prayed and prayed that she would have her on mother’s day, (a week before her due date) so when she went to bed Saturday night, with no signs of meeting Kayleigh the next day, she was bummed out, to say the least… Little did she know God was just waiting for the *perfect* timing!
In the mean time, as zac and emily settled into their hospital room, I took the morning to celebrate MY mom. After all, I was celebrating what she went through 26 years ago, when she entered into mother hood, as I would later watch Emily enter into the very same exciting time. We had a great afternoon at Hidden Lake Gardens, her favorite spot in the world! I do have the best mommy ever I am so incredibly thankful for her and all she does.
After spending the morning with my mom, I had my husband pick me up, and we rushed to the hospital to anxiously wait (a full 26 hours) till our little niece would come… she FINALLY arrived after a loooong night for mommy & daddy. Emily asked if I would stay in the room during the delivery, and wow, what an amazing experience. I was so thankful I was able to be there for her and Zac.
Kayleigh Ann Howard entered into the world at 9:03am today, May 9th at 7lbs 2oz and 21 inches long! Em and I had both guessed her EXACT WEIGHT! 🙂 I am so proud of Emily, she was amazing and calm through the whole process…
Many more to come, still here with her.. but here are some pics of a very exciting, very long Mother’s Day 2011!
blessings, dayna
I will put PLENTY more up this week.. these are just for the new mommy! 🙂
